Katharina Beilstein

Kathrina Beilstein’s jewlery cannot be categorized. Her works move in-between design and art. After studying sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Düsseldorf her interdisciplinary approach led her to bridge the conventional rules between art and craft. Therefore, her works often merge fundamental questions of fine art with the modern idea of functionality. The designs range from various categories and are all handmade using the lost wax technique that is finished with a final surface polish to bring fourth the details of the spiral shapes. Beilstein’s works can be considered as sculptures created to be worn.
