Pearls

Pearls are fascinating creations of living shells. A pearl oyster resides in water and continuously produces nacre, also known as mother-of-pearl. Sometimes, a foreign object finds its way between the mantle tissue of the shell and its inner shell, which becomes enveloped in layers of nacre and gradually forms into a pearl. Pearls can be round, elongated, or pear-shaped, ranging from tiny specks to two centimeters in size. They can be white, pink, or even almost black. At ORFÈVRE, we adore all pearls, especially the irregular and baroque ones, each with its own unique allure.
